Landrum High School Visual Arts

My philosphy of education can be summed up in one quote by noted art educator Viktor Lowenfeld, "The teacher's primary role is to expand the student's frame of reference."  My classroom operates with a constructivist approach that emphasizes the idea of students building their own understandings of the world of art through first-hand experiences and reflecting on those experiences in light of what they already know.  Visual art should be part of every student's basic education.  Humans have always found  and will continue to find ways to express themselves.
